+A lot of the mobile software I suggest is primarily or only available through [[F-Droid]], which is a repository of open-source, generally privacy-respecting Android software.  Some of the suggested software is also available through the Google Play store, but in general it's better from a privacy perspective to download from F-Droid.  Apologies to iOS users -- I haven't owned an iOS device in over ten years so I don't have any insight to offer there.
